UAE Pass

UAE Pass is the federal national digital identity service — a smartphone app and credential that acts as single sign-on across 6,000+ UAE government and private services. Backed by the Emirates ID, it provides authenticated login, document signing, document storage, and identity verification. Operated by Smart Dubai, the Federal Authority for Government Services, and Abu Dhabi Digital Authority.

Registration is via the UAE Pass app, with biometric verification at any approved kiosk or app-based liveness check.

The UAE Pass is issued to all UAE residents and is linked to their Emirates ID. The process typically involves registering for the UAE Pass during the residency onboarding process. Once registered, residents can access a wide range of online services through the digital wallet. The UAE Pass utilizes biometric data for secure authentication. The wallet can be accessed via a mobile app and offers features such as digital signatures and secure document storage. The UAE Pass is continuously being updated to integrate with new services and enhance security.

New residents in the UAE use the UAE Pass to access online services such as paying utility bills, renewing vehicle registration, applying for permits, and accessing government portals. Existing residents can also utilize the UAE Pass for various online transactions and services. The UAE Pass simplifies the process of accessing essential services and enhances digital convenience for residents across the UAE. For example, when applying for a new residence visa, the UAE Pass is often required for identity verification.

Most UAE government services have moved to UAE Pass authentication. New residents who don't activate it within their first weeks find themselves blocked from filings, banking, and even some private platforms.
